2018 Subaru Impreza vs 2018  Kia Forte near West Chester, PA

Finding the perfect compact car that will meet and even exceed all your wants and needs can be a difficult process! That's where we come in! We have created this comparison review to narrow down the choices and find out which car comes out on top. Two of the best compact cars are the 2018 Subaru Impreza and the 2018 Kia Forte. The Impreza is coming off a fresh redesign in 2017 so the exterior is sleek, all-wheel drive is standard, and the interior is loaded with great features and comfortable to boot! New changes for the 2018 model year include standard automatic wipers on Premium, Sport, and Limited models. The Forte was refreshed last year with updates to the interior materials and infotainment system. Updates for the 2018 model year only include minor changes to the trim level packages.

2018 Subaru Impreza Power & Handling

Each 2018 Subaru Impreza has the same engine under the hood, a 2.0-liter SUBARU BOXER four-cylinder. This engine cranks out 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. You have your choice between a five-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission. Subaru also equips each Impreza model with standard all-wheel drive! The EPA estimates that this engine with the manual transmission can achieve up to 32 miles per gallon on the highway! With the automatic transmission, this car is estimated to get up to an incredible 38 mpg highway!

2018  Kia Forte Power & Handling

Every 2018 Forte sedan is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that creates 174 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The EPA estimates that this sedan with the manual transmission can get up to 34 mpg on the highway. The EX model opens the doors to a 2.0-liter direct-injection 4-cylinder engine that produces 164 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. Transmission options are the same with this engine. Front-wheel drive is your only option here.

Conclusions

We have a winner: the 2018 Subaru Impreza! This car clearly comes out on top with a way better list of standard features and a more powerful standard engine. Standard all-wheel drive is pretty hard to compete with as well! Plus it's incredibly easy to choose between the sedan and hatchback body styles! Want to learn more about the 2018 Subaru Impreza?
